In a joint declaration for the elections held this Sunday, the high
representative of the European Union, Catherine Ashton and Commissioner
Stefan Fule, greeted the Albanian citizens for the Parliamentary
elections that were held regularly.
“Now you need to guarantee a proper following of the preliminary findings and conclusions of the International Mission for the Election Observation. We condemn the cases of violence and we expect that these incidents should be investigated properly and the authors should be brought to justice”, their declaration says.
According to Ashton and Fule, now it is important that the remaining standards of the electoral process will be done according the international and European Union standards.
“We appeal all political parties to act constructively on behalf of the Albanian people”, the declaration continues.
“As soon as the results are certified, the new government should be created immediately in order to treat the challenges that await you for guaranteeing that the reforms will be followed strongly and that the European integration process can be accelerated”, concludes the joint declaration of the High Representative of the European Union, Catherine Ashton, and the Commissioner for Enlargement, Stefan Fule.
