23 days before the moment when Albanians will express their will
about who will govern them in the next four years, the participation in
the elections takes a special importance.
Not only as a civil obligation, but also as a commitment to the country’s democracy. In order to bring forward the Albanian democracy, same as in the past elections, the international community has appealed to not neglect with the vote of every citizen on the June 23rd elections.
The series of appeals was opened by the United States Ambassador to Tirana, Alexander Arvizu, who posted several comments on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
“This is an election season, a thrilling time for Albania”, Arvizu writes on Twitter. The message continues with a question made by the United States diplomat. “Why you must vote?”
According to Arvizu, the answer is simple. “To become part of democracy”. An appeal for a massive participation in the elections, which could be followed by other messages from the international community.
And not only from the diplomats who serve in Tirana. Similar appeals for participation and voting freedom might come in the upcoming weeks, especially in the last days of the campaign.
