Arvizu: Politicians, incapable of consensus

The United States Ambassador to Tirana, Alexander Arvizu, visited the
city of Fier where he appealed for new efforts to resolve the Central
Election Commission issue.

Arvizu underlined that is never too late to realize the Central Election Commission constitution, although the will of the Albanian political leaders has been completely absent so far.

“I think that we have spoken enough about our concerns on the Central Election Commission. I am not sure what we can ad more. It is sad that the Central Election Commission is not fully constituted and this doesn’t help the electoral process. I think that it is never too late, and I suppose that there must be good will from the political actors to find a way to make the Central Election Commission work fully constituted. But to do this, all parties should find a compromise and the Albanian leaders are in an unique way incapable of doing this”, Arvizu declared.

Ambassador Arvizu met with the Fier Mayor, Baftjar Zeqo, and participated in a debate organized in this city between the different political forces.
