Arvizu: Parties trying for consensual president

The US Ambassador to Tirana, Alexander Arvizu, valued the efforts of both parties for finding a consensual president.

“I have followed very closely the declarations of Prime Minister Berisha and the SP leader, Edi Rama, after the meeting that was held this Sunday. After the meeting, with their declarations they reinforced what the USA has said”, Arvizu told to the media.

Ambassador Arvizu declared that Rama and the Socialist Party are to be praised about the fact that they don’t necessarily want a person that comes from the left parties, while the DP and PM Berisha are to be praised making it clear that their candidate doesn’t represent the party’s close interests.

The ambassador held a meeting with Berisha, which lasted 40 minutes. There is still no official announcement about this meeting.
