The US Ambassador in Tirana, Alexander Arvizu, appealed the Albanian
politics to soften the nationalist tones that according to the US
diplomat damage the peace and security in Balkan.

After meeting for more than one hour with the Red and Black Alliance leader, Kreshnik Spahiu, the ambassador valued their commitment in the electoral campaign and asked them to avoid the nationalist spirit.

“Political competition is very good in any democracy, and for this reason we welcome the active participation of the Red and Black Alliance. We have spoken especially about their platform, but the rule of law and fight against corruption is emphasized. We spoke about what is important for every Albanian political party, which is important also for the US; to keep speaking in a moderate way for the continuity of stability in the region. I have encouraged Mr.Spahiu in this direction for the fact that patriotism is something good, but it is important to avoid temptations for nationalist rhetoric that could go against stability and moderation”, Arvizu declared.

Kreshnik Spahiu valued the role of the US as a partner and guide of the Red and Black Alliance.

“The Red and Black Alliance will present its platform very soon, which is oriented versus the war against corruption, so that Albania can leave the black list of the most corrupted countries in Europe. Red and Black Alliance has the USA as a main partner and guide, and it considers that Albania should bring change through new blood, by changing the political elites, which is reflected in our content, membership and spirit”, Spahiu declared.
