Arvizu: Investigate corruption

After reminding that the high rank officials and judges are now without
immunity, the US Ambassador to Tirana, Alexander ARvizu, told the troop
of Prosecutors and Prosecutor General Adriatic Llalla that this is the
right time to fight corruption.

“We know that the Parliament passed this September some Constitutional reforms and limited the immunity for high rank officials and the judiciary, and now is the right time to make a good use of this initiative and continue fight against corruption”, Arvizu declared.

“The immunity limitation of high rank officials has created great facilities for extending investigations in all levels of public officials. The Prosecution has the duty to implement the lawmakers’ will to strengthen the position of the Prosecution”, the Prosecutor declared.

The US Ambassador added that despite the positive achievements by the task force units, there is still more to be done.

“There are going to be successes and there are going to be setbacks. But we know that this is an evolution process and we want to build over all successes that we have had in the past”, Arvizu declared.

Congratulating once again the Prosecutor General for his duty, the Ambassador declared:

“From the prospective of the untied states, there is insufficient progress being made in the fight against official corruption and the culture of impunity”.
