Arrests for the Kukes Aqueduct, Mayor: Our voice was heard

Righ after the arrest of four persons, and on other on the run, for
abusing with the funds that were given for building an aqueduct in
Kukes, the Mayor of this town, Hasan Halilaj, has immediately reacted.

He declared that the authorities have finally heard the voice of the citizens, and also the voice of the Kukes Municipality, which has asked for the solution of this huge problem for a long time.

Halilaj added that the Prosecution has done a serious work, and the government should resolve this problem by remaking its funding project.

According to Halilaj, the Ministry of Transportation and the General Directory of Aqueducts must resolve this situation once and for all.

“We have been promised by the Prime Minister that not only he will deal with the problem of 4 million EUR that have been spent, and still Kukes is without water, but also that he will review the project, its works and will open the funds once again for resolving this issue”, Halilaj declared.

The Kukes Court has left the four suspects in prison: Guri aliaj, the Director of Implementation of Projects at the Tirana General Directory of Aqueducts; Zeqir Isaku and Halil Beta, two engineers; Gazmend Mucaj, legal representative of the projection studio “Mega Studio”, and the supervisor of the works.

The authorities are looking for Ramadan Bunci, technical leader of the “Gener 2 Albstar”.
