Korça Police in cooperation with the Albanian Border Police have hit another case of criminal activity of human trafficking in the field of providing assistance to foreign citizens, for illegal border crossing in exchange for a money reward.
Citizen A. R., 40 years old, resident in Lapraka, Tirana who was transporting 8 illegal immigrants, was arrested in flagrante delicto.
“The above citizen was caught in the neighborhood no. 3, Pogradec, by the employees of the Traffic Police, transporting with the vehicle type “Mazda”, in the direction of Tirana, 8 illegal emigrants, to whom, in return for the profit, he had promised to cross them to the EU countries.
“The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Pogradec Judicial District, for the criminal offense “Assistance in illegal border crossing”, the police announced.
