
The officials of the Mitrovica Commune have information that armed Serbs
are freely moving in Northern Kosovo, spreading concern among the
residents.
According to Telegraf, the representatives of the political and security structures in Mitrovica, during the meeting of the Local Committee for assessing public security, declared that the northern situation keeps being calm, but very tense. In this meeting was underlined the problem with the non-Serbian residents who have remained isolated.
The Vice Chairman of the Mitrovica Commune, Riza Haziri asked the security structures to take measures for opening the roads and eliminating roadblock.
“A group of extremists should not be allowed to challenge law and order”, he declared.
Kosovo Police, with the support of EULEX and KFOR, focused on increasing the security measures in the northern neighborhoods and villages with mixed population.
Serbia appeals reservists to stand by for war
The Serbian Defense Ministry and the Serbian Army sent a letter to war reservists to stand by for combat.
The news came from the Helsinki Committee in Belgrade, which refers to a
Serbian citizen who has received the letter and shown it to the
committee.
The letter asked this person to stand by for war during October, says
the Chairman of the Serbian Helsinki Committee, Sonia Biserko, for the
Serbian “Danas”.
According to her, the letter asks reservists to stand by for entering
the town of Pozharevc, for the tensions that have aroused lately in the
Kosovo-Serbia border.
But the person who denounced the letter also declared that he has no
intention to join the reservists units and neither to hold a weapon in
any kind of situation.
