Argita accused for Ansar’s property

The main element of the correspondence between the Paki businessman
Zafar Ansar and the Prime Minister’s daughter, Argita Malltezi, was the
purchase of a strip of land where the thermal power station was to be
built.

Here’s what Mr.Ansar declared about the land:
“At first I didn’t know that she had interest in selling the land. She asked me if I wanted to buy land, and what was the space that I was requiring. I told her that I needed land for building the station. I explained the details through an e-mail. She informed me that the land was ready and that I should act fast, because the opportunity would not last. The land was inadequate, without the necessary infrastructure, very expensive and didn’t fulfil my needs. I informed her that it was still early for me to buy land. The project should be approved first and then I should invest millions to buy the land. She said that the project approval was no problem. Read the e-mails and you will reach your own conclusions. Buying the land was a good chance for me to progress, but I had pressures and so I refused. After this I was told that the project for the 120 MW thermal power station could have problems. Then I had received no further communication from the Albanian Power Corporation. I could not believe how the opportunity for building a thermal power station was ignored like that. It could facilitate the people’s demand for electricity. I saw that as a lost chance to have a 100 million EUR investment.”

When Argita Malltezi released a press statement in response, she didn’t mention anything about the property issue.

This fact is used by the Socialist MP, Erion Brace, who wrote some questions to Argita on Facebook by also posting some technical data about the land.

“The other key element in the ‘3-million-euros lady’ case is about the land owner identity. Whose was the land she offered to Zafar Ansar? Hers? How did she become its owner? Does it belong to the state? How did she acquire it? Does it belong to someone else? Who is this person?”

Brace is also interested to know from Berisha’s daughter about how she bought “Crown Acquisitions” of Damir Fazlic, a 25.030 square meter land in “Rinia” village, near Porto Romano, Durres.

Brace concluded the Facebook post with these words: “I hope that you will answer. You are very transparent.”

SP: Argita, conflicts of interest

MP Eduard Shalsi accused the Prime Minister of power abuse and conflict of interest, after the facts that were published about his daughter working as a mediator with foreign investments in Albania. Shalsi asked the Prime Minister to clarify his position.

“Accepting payments in exchange of the Prime Minister’s approval, is a clear conflict of interest. Using government information to chose the clients of your legal firm, and encouraging your clients to do business based on the information that you have from your father, is a clear condemnable conflict of interests. For the Prime Minister’s daughter it is not enough to publish the revenues, but she must also show us how she has earned that money. A businessman spoke about the negotiations with the Prime Minister’s daughter, and many others haven’t found the courage to do it. If the Prime Minister’s daughter has nothing to hide, she must publish the names of her clients, so that we can tell if they have influenced the decisions of the Albanian Prime Minister”, Shalsi declared.

Braçe: Argita must answer

The Socialist MP, Erjon Brace, declared that the Prime Minister’s daughter didn’t answer, although she boasts of transparency.

Brace asked Argita to answer about the land that she wanted to sell to Ansar. “The other key element in the ‘3-million-euros lady’ case is about the land owner identity. Whose was the land she offered to Zafar Ansar? Hers? How did she become its owner? Does it belong to the state? How did she acquire it? Does it belong to someone else? Who is this person?”, Brace declared.
