Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The lack of running water in some areas, overpriced bills and other
concerns raised by the citizens have taken an answer by Aqueduct
directors, summoned by the Ombudsman.
“The citizens have complained for the lack of information regarding overpriced bills and abuses with the consumer-provider relations”, declared Florina Nuni, Commissioner at the Ombudsman.
“We notify the citizens for every intervention. We must differentiate a category of people who are not sincere and abuse with the lack of running water. Water is a product, and has its cost. If they don’t pay, we will not give it to them”, declared the Aqueduct director, Seit Dollapi.
There have been a series of complaints at the Ombudsman, 86 of which have been considered as righteous by the institution.
As for the Roma family in Shkoze, who do not get running water because they have no contract with the Aqueduct, the Ombudsman declared that they have agreed with this institution to make available at least one single tap near their barracks.
“Mr. Dollapi agreed to resolve this problem, and I believe that the work will start tomorrow. There are many citizens who have brought complaints. These hearing sesions will be held with every institution and entity that is related with the citizen”, declared the Ombudsman, Igli Totozani.
The Ombudsman will demand answers from all institutions that offer services to the citizens and do not respect the contracts.
