Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Tirana Aqueduct bought the Lana-Bregas hydropower plant for 15
million EUR, which was owned by the Ministry of Economy and Energy.
The money for buying the hydropower plant was loaned by commercial banks. With this investment, the Aqueduct aims to reduce energy expenses that currently hold a very important position.
“Today we pay 360.000 USD monthly, or 4 million USD annually only for the energy. Within five years, the money that was loaned by the Aqueduct will be justified”, declared the director Sahit Dollapi.
The Lana-Bregas hydropower plant has a capacity of 5 MW. It can be found in some tunnels in Dajt, in a strategic position for facing possible attacks, in order to secure power for the main government institutions, the General Army Headquarters and public hospitals.
