This Wednesday at 15:00, the Court of Appeal will decide about the 29
defendants in the Gerdec tragedy trial. The decision will be announced
by the judge panel composed of Judges Alaudin Malaj, Gent Shala and
Shkelqim Miri.
The Court of appeal had announced an earlier date for the verdict, but it was postponed for February 13th, due to the voluminous file.
The victims’ relatives were present in the room, together with the defending lawyers.
Different from the First Instance Court, the Court of Appeal ended the case within a few months. The Prosecution asked the Court to find the 28 defendants guilty, including the Albademil Company. They have dropped their charges only for Lavdi Shatro.
The defending lawyers insisted on their clients’ innocence and asked the suspension of the First Instance Court decision, which finds most of the defendants guilty.
