A few days ago, the Court of First Instance accepted the Prosecution’s
request for suspending Endira Bushati from her post as chairwoman of the
Audiovisual Media Authority.
The request was made after a criminal procedure started against Mr.Bushati, since her position on that post could influence the continuity of investigations.
Mrs.Bushati attacked the judge for this decision and challenged the verdict it at the Court of Appeal, which decided today to leave in power the decision of the Court of First Instance.
This decision puts AMA in crisis. From now on, AMA is an institution without a head, since its leader has been suspended.
Vice Director Sami Neza resigned a few months ago, and for two years AMA has been functioning without four member seats, which have been vacant since then, from seven members that they should have been in total.
