The World Health Organization and the Health Ministry found another way
for making the citizens aware of the dangers that derive from smoking.
They have published posters with the damages caused by smoking, so that
every passer-by can learn about these fatal diseases.
“The self-care is individual for every citizen. People must understand that smoking is one of the two biggest causes of death in the world”, declared the Health Minister, Petrit Vasili.
The representative of the WHO in Tirana, Vasil Miho, declared that the motto for this year is “far from the interferences of the tobacco industry”, which lures young men and women through different ways. They have asked the Ministries that control the customs and advertisements to act against the phenomenon.
“We must say no to tobacco companies for this year. The other Ministers must become a little bit of Health Minsiters. Everyone must contribute”, Miho declared.
Although the Albanian law doesn’t allow smoking in public places, it has not been implemented, despite the sporadic efforts of the responsible institutions.
