Anti-COVID19 measures tightened in Albania/ High infection rates, 6 losses of life in last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection called today (17.11.2020) on all citizens to respect the rules of hygiene, physical distancing and wearing a mask in any environment outside the home, while the Technical Committee of Experts has decided to ban gatherings of more than 10 persons in open and closed places, to ban party meetings and gatherings, conferences, festive ceremonies, weddings and funeral ceremonies with many participants, until a second order.

In the last 24 hours, 2,560 tests were performed in our country, of which 694 citizens tested positive for the SARS COV2 virus.

Positive cases confirmed in the last 24 hours have been identified in these municipalities: 334 cases in Tirana, 41 in Berat, 39 in Fier, 36 in Lushnje, 32 in Vlora, out of 28 cases in Durrës, Gramsh, 19 in Kavaja, 17 in Saranda, 14 in Mallakastër, 13 in Kruja, out of 12 cases in Kurbin , Mirditë, Gjirokastër, from 10 cases in Lezha, Pogradec, from 7 cases in Kukës, Kuçovë, 6 in Korçë, 5 in Shkodër, from 3 cases in Has, Puka, from 1 case in Elbasan, Tropojë, Përmet, Dibër, Bulqizë, Peqin.

In the last 24 hours, 351 citizens have recovered, while in the 3 COVID hospitals, 412 patients are being treated, 13 in intensive therapy.

Despite the efforts of doctors, in the last 24 hours, 6 citizens with Sars-Cov2 positive have lost their lives in COVID hospitals: 66-year-old doctor Ilirjan Draçi, a 28-year-old woman, a 61-year-old woman, a 76-year-old woman, and a a 78-year-old man from Tirana and a 63-year-old woman from Elbasan.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection addresses all citizens who are confirmed or awaiting the answer to the test, to remain isolated, respecting the obligation of self-quarantine.
