Belgrade avoided a confrontation with Tirana in Brussels over Kosovo.
While the arrival of the Albanian delegation was confirmed, the Serbian
Prime Minister Alexandar Vucic has canceled his participation in the
annual meeting on Balkan which is organized this Tuesday by Friends of
Europe.
The panel will discuss this time “Revival of Balkan: initial hit against blocked policies”, and the impact for the perspectives of the region until 2020, in which they are expected to mention Kosovo, which also enjoys a European perspective as all other countries of the region.
Confidential sources said for Top Channel that the Serbian Prime Minister preferred to avoid a possible confrontation over Kosovo in this Panel, by delegating the representation of Serbia to Ivica Dacic, the Foreign Minister of Serbia, but then to the Chief Negotiatior of the Serbian side.
The same sources argued that Serbia is expected to play the “empty seat” card, by being absent in the annual meeting of Friends of Europe.
