Analysts: SP leadership elections, no inspiration

The analyst Mustafa Nano commented the election of the new leadership
structures of the Socialist party, saying that the opposition lost one
chance for giving more space to new people.

“The Socialist Party has some old politicians, such as Gramoz Ruci and Namik Dokle, who have always been important exponents of this party. There comes a moment when these people, despite their big contribution and passion, should better create more room for the new generation that is waiting, and this should be done in the right momoent”, Nano declared.

Andi Bushati sees the new leadership from a different point of view:

“The fact that the Socialist leader opponents, such as Blushi or Malaj, are still in the leadership, means that their critics for the way how the SP has been managed for four years are receiving attention. Regardless our critics, the way how this congress ended and how the new leadership was created, shows that the Socialist Party remains the most democratic and most open party in the Albanian spectrum”.

For Mustafa Nano, the new leadership is an electoral strategy of Edi Rama.

“After this congress, SP comes stronger and more compact. The Albanians need a good team, with expert people who know what is going on with the country”, Nano declared.

Andi Bushati says that leaving Kastriot Islami and Andis Harasani out of the leadership, was something that should have been avoided.

“If I would have voted as a Socialist, Islami and Harasani would be an asset for the Party’s forums. But I think that the fact that they are not… Still there is not a clear division line, so that some opponents get excluded. The fact that a good part of the Movement for a Different Thought is still in the leadership of the Socialist Party, shows that there is attention to the opponents in the party”, Bushati declared.

Andi Bushati underlines the need of the Socialist Party for paying attention to the coalitions, more than having efficient structures.

“The Socialists have maximized the votes that they could receive with the elections of 2009 and 2011. The problem of the Socialist Party is not how they can be efficient for maximizing their votes, but what policies they will use, what programs they will open, the alliances they will do so that the Party will improve the coalition and not the structures. This is the real challenge”, Bushati declared.
