The law for “assets legalization and partial pardon of custom and tax
debts” entered in act 10 days ago, and institutions that cover the
process will start its implementation.
Important part of this process is excluding a category of state employees from the fiscal amnesty.
The law clearly says that from this pardon are excluded all state officials who are part of HIDAA (High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets), the institution that verifies and fights conflicts of interest or wealth received in illegal ways.
Official HIDAA sources declared for “Shqip” newspaper that a list with officials’ names has been sent to the National Registration Center, starting with the Albanian President, the Prime Minister, all ministers and many directors.
This list has 4612 names which must be verified for conflicts of interest or if they are connected to private subjects.
Every business that will be part of this amnesty must not have direct connection with government officials, politicians and other officials.
Within 10 days from enactment, HIDAA must send this name list to General Tax Office, General Customs Office, General Transport Service Office and National Registration Center.
The law was enacted on May 18th, and today it is the last deadline for sending this list that, according to HIDAA, it was sent as the law dictates.
