Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The European governments are following closely the developments in
Tirana that are related with the integration processes to form their
positions that would translate to a positive or negative vote for the
recommendations of the European Commission.
Nicholas Cannon, the ambassador of the United Kingdom in Tirana says for Top Channel that the Foreign British Ministry has not announced their official position, but everything is related with the developments in Albania.
“In fact, the position is the same that used to be before. The Commission has decided the criteria that are needed for the candidate status. We hope that Albania will fulfil them as soon as possible. As we know, the Commission has given a positive recommendation and the authorities of my country in London are reviewing them. On the same time we are observing the movements of the Albanians, and we are waiting for the results. More work needs to be done with the realization of the three remaining laws, and we are waiting the European Commission’s opinion about these issues. When this will happen, our Ministers in London will have a position, but not earlier. I want to reiterate that we are waiting for the next Commission report in which will be included the remaining laws. It will be the moment when we will form our stance”, Canon declared.
Mads Sandau Jensen was appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Albania. He says that Denmark’s vote will depend on Albania’s delivery of the European Commission’s criteria.
“We don’t have a final position, but chances are that we will follow the Commission’s. Albania must fulfil the recommendations and there’s no doubt about this. If they will be fulfilled, I can say that I will not be nervous”, Jensen declared.
