The US Ambassador, Donald Lu, and the Chief of the EU, Romana Vlahutin, visited the polling stations in Vlore. A few minutes later, Ambassador Lu posted on Twitter that he is one of the 300 international observers who are following the elections closely, while Vlahutin reiterated that the process should be free and fair.
The Italian Ambassador, Massimo Gaiani, visited the polling stations of Mzez, where he declared that he stand close to the Albanian citizens in this important moment, since vote is one of the basic expressions of democracy.
The Chief of OSCE/ODIHR, Audry Glover, has observed the stations in Tirana, where she reported that things appear calm but they should wait for the reports before having a final conclusion about the progress of these elections.
The British, French, German and Dutch ambassadors also visited Vora, Kamza and Kruja. The Ambassador of Spain visited Shkodra while the Charge D’Affair of Sweden monitored Himara and Saranda.
