The democratic co-chairman of the Electoral Reform Commission, Enkelejd Alibeaj, commented today after the negotiations between the Socialist Party and the Reestablishment group within the DP, regarding the calming of protests and the normalization of the situation in the Assembly.
The MP emphasizes that if it is true that there is an agreement in the talks to fail the Electoral Reform Commission, then this is “a bargain at the expense of Albanians and for the interests of two individuals who want to hold Albania hostage”.
Alibeaj adds that none of Prime Minister Rama’s nominees or desired ones can speak on behalf of the Democratic Party.
“Two clarifications that the public needs to know about secret or occult negotiations rumored in the media,” he said.
“The SP must clarify whether it has decided to bargain for the Electoral Reform. In the media, referring to sources from the SP and Sali Berisha’s group, it has been announced that there is an agreement to fail the Electoral Reform Commission so that the matter goes to the Laws Commission, where the socialists have the decision-making majority.
“SP are against the diaspora vote, electronic voting, open lists. If this is true, this is a bargain at the expense of the Albanians and for the interests of the two individuals who want to hold Albania hostage, which are Rama and Berisha.”
Top Channel learned that negotiations are taking place that “soothe” the anger of the Reestablishment group in the DP, with the aim of restoring calm in the Assembly.
It is known that the socialists are ready to issue a petition and fulfill a part of the list of demands of the opposition for the sake of parliamentary normality.
The parliamentary majority is ready to offer the minority the establishment of 2 investigative commissions out of a total of 8, which must have agreement and a concrete object.
Consent is also being sought for the electoral reform, but the solution offered by Gazment Bardhi does not see Enkelejd Alibeaj as co-chairman.
In the event that by March 25, the Commission will not have a consensual product with the deputies of Lulzim Basha, another path will be sought.
The sources also announced that Speaker Lindita Nikolla, has also entered the negotiations, colling the SP parliamentary group chairman, Bledi Çuçi, and the DP group leader, Gazment Bardhi, to a meeting to agree on a solution.
