Enkelejd Alibeaj, presented at the CEC as the chairman of the Democratic Party, today gathered the Parliamentary Group and the Presidency to discuss the agenda of the local elections, shortly after the application for the local elections of May 14 to the CEC.
18 DP MPs are present at the meeting, as MP Jorida Tabaku said that the Democratic Party should compete unitedly in the elections, as they are not facing each other, but PM Edi Rama.
As for the former DP president Lulzim Basha, Tabaku said that “he is the past and we must look to the future”.
“It doesn’t matter what position I have.
We must rise above ourselves to create a serious bid for DP in the May 14 elections. Today is the moment to unitedly offer what we could not offer in 2019. Albanians expect a serious offer from the Democratic Party. I will always be for the unification of the Democratic Party. Lulzim Basha has resigned. He is the past for the DP, we must look to the future. The date with his signature is March 18, 2022,” said Tabaku.
Enkelejd Alibeaj has also called on the candidates who emerged from the primaries of the rival Sali Berisha, to enter the electoral race on May 14 under the official DP logo.
“With the participation, the candidates, with our goals and with our results in these elections, we must honor the history of the Democratic Party,” he said.
