Aldo Bare at the Supreme Court

As he had previously announced, the defending lawyer of Aldo Bare requested from
the Supreme Court to suspend the case against his client, due to
procedural infringements, while the Prosecution has appealed it by asking the
Court to return the case at the Court of Appeal for Serious Crimes, with
another judge panel.

These moves taken from both sides cancel the return for review at the First Degree Court of Serious Crimes. Credible sources from the Supreme Court say for Top Channel that Bare’s defending lawyer, Vladimir Meci, has supported the request for suspending the case, since this court had suspended other cases for procedural and deadline violations, such as the cases of Andi Tome or the former Minister of Transports, Lulzim Basha, now Mayor of Tirana.

The defending lawyer argues that Bare’s situation is the same with Lulzim Basha, since the accusation was not communicated to him on the right time. The defending lawyer has also listed other regulation infringements.

The prosecutor says that the case should be returned in the First Degree and that the appeal should had resolved the problems that caused the cancellation of the life to prison sentence. The Ministry of Justice authorized an inspection for the Court violations. The inspection has finished, but there is no conclusion yet.
