The Minister of Economy, Edmond Haxhinasto, spoke for the first time in public about the negotiations for the sale of Albpetrol.

Haxhinasto declared that the process is going according to the legal deadlines and it will end within the date predicted by law, which coincides with the beginning of the next month.

“This process has started and it is within all legal borders, as predicted by the purchase agreement. Certainly that we must respect the legal deadlines, and conclude the agreement for the purchase of these shares”, Haxhinasto declared.

As regards the 20% guarantee that the winning company must freeze for the government, the head of economy declared that according to the law, it’s closed when the agreement is signed.

“This 20% freezes in the moment when the agreement ends, and this has been asked very clearly by the law”, Haxhinasto declared.

The Minister spoke about the financial crisis of the energy sector, confirming that the relations between the government and CEZ are problematic.

“The government will take all measures for this performance to get improved in the distribution system, and it doesn’t matter if this service will be offered by CEZ or any other public or private entity”, Haxhinasto declared.

The government has not decided yet about the relations with the company, while the energy sector is facing the biggest financial crisis and obliging the government to guarantee the power supply to the country.
