Alberto Malesani, another candidate for Albania’s coach

The Albanian football federation said they haven’t decided yet for the coach of the Albanian national football team.

However, another name that has been mentioned, besides Pannuci-De Canio, is Alberto Malesani, former coach of Parma and Fiorentina.

The 63-year-old was strongly invested in this race. SuperSport says that his candidacy has been valued mostly by the group established specifically for this person at the Football Federation, led by President Armand Duka.

The negotiations, however, are on the final phase, when everything is going to be decided. The biggest dilemma is about who will be the new coach to lead Albania through the Russia 2018 qualification matches, and also to repeat the miracle of being part of another major event, the European 2020.
