The Tirana Court of Appeal has sentenced Albenc Ago to 20 years in prison for the murder of Eva Vishaj.
Judge Agron Papajani left in effect the verdict given in absence by the Court of Tirana, although the Constitutional Court had identified irregularities and returned the case to the First Instance.
Albenc Ago is accused of killing Eva Vishaj on 23 May 1997, and throwing her body in the 31st kilometer of the Tirana-Elbasan road. The Court of Appeal verdict is definitive and Albenc Ago, the investigations for whom were opened eight years after the crime, will serve this time to prison.
