The State Police has reacted in response to media enquiries, regarding the treatment of some citizens blocked at border crossing points to Albania.
The State Police calls on Albanian citizens residing in other countries not to travel to Albania, as long as the state of emergency lasts. At the same time, the State Police calls on Albanian citizens residing only in Albania, who for various reasons have been left outside it, not to travel without first obtaining the relevant authorization from the diplomatic missions.
“The country is in an emergency situation due to the pandemic of COVID-19, due to which many public, economic, commercial, etc. activities have been restricted in an exceptional way. Unfortunately, it is ascertained that in some cases, at the border crossing points, citizens who seek to travel to different destinations in Albania are found in violation of the established rules. In most cases, these are citizens reside in other countries and want to travel to Albania. It is important for everyone to understand that entry and exit from the territory of the country is an exception imposed by the unusual situation. Albanian citizens who work, live and are resident in other countries cannot travel to Albania, as long as the state of emergency lasts”.
