Albanians spend on health as much as for tobacco and alcohol, which cause many diseases.
A poll published by INSTAT (Albanian Institution of Statistics), shows that 3.4% of family revenues are spent on alcohol and tobacco.
The Health Minister, Mira Rakacolli, says that this is painful, since the same amount is paid for curing diseases.
According to Rakacolli, spending on health care were lower during 2017, due to more free health services offered by the government and because some medicaments have been reimbursed for people who don’t pay insurance.
