Albanian president Bajram Begaj, accompanied by the First Lady was received today on a state visit to Kazakhstan by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
This is the first visit of a president from Albania to Kazakhstan, a time when 30 years have passed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. After the state reception ceremony, the two presidents held a one-on-one meeting, which was followed by a meeting between the two delegations.
In a statement to the media, evaluating the very good relations between the two countries, President Begaj said that an important issue that was discussed was the opening of an Embassy of Kazakhstan in Albania, which was welcomed by President Tokayev.
Tourism was also in the center of attention during the meetings, for which President Begaj said that he is interested in establishing a direct airline between Kazakhstan and Tirana, while inviting President Tokayev to visit Albania.
