Albanian patient in Athens stabs nurse and dies after jumping from hospital’s 4th floor

A 59-year-old Albanian man stabbed a nurse in an Athens hospital today and then jumped from the 4th floor of the hospital, dying on the spot.

Greek police said the victim was named as 59 years old Petro Çako, who was hospitalized for problems unrelated to Covid-19 but was reportedly having mental problems. Authorities have seized his medical record and are investigating the cause of the incident.

The injured nurse stated that he had gone to the patient Çako room after being alerted from the help signal from his room.

After arriving in the room, she realized that the patient was hiding behind the gate and at the moment he came out hitting her with a kitchen knife and injuring her in the back. She is out of danger for life.
