At today’s meeting of the Conference of Speakers, Speaker of the Assembly Elisa Spiropali, proposed naming two halls of the Assembly after Bashkim Fino and Gerti Bogdani, the late deputies who passed away prematurely, the first from Covid in 2021 and Bogdani from a sudden heart attack this year.
“I would like to inform you that I have decided that in order to honor the name and political, social and parliamentary contribution of two distinguished personalities who passed away, two meeting halls in the premises of the Assembly session hall building, one will be named Bashkim Fino and the other Gerti Bogdani.
Bashkim Fino, former Prime Minister of Albania, former minister and member of Parliament for 6 legislatures, passed away at the age of 59 while in office as a member of Parliament. Gerti Bogdani, member of Parliament for 2 legislatures, passed away at a younger age.
“I believe that I have your support and that of the members of Parliament”, said Ms. Spiropali.
