A group of Albanians who had traveled to Belgrade to watch the football
match with Serbia were held for several hours at the airport without an
apparent reason.

The Serbian authorities have blocked them right after they saw one of them wearing a scarf with the Albanian national flag. This is when the standard procedures were suspended and the Albanian citizens were held.

The Albanian ambassador in Belgrade, Ilir Brocka, was notified and immediately he started negotiating with the Serbian Authorities.

One of the people who were blocked was Top Channel’s journalist, Sokol Balla, who informed the Foreign Ministry from Twitter about the situation that was created with the 45 Albanian citizens.

The Foreign Ministry reacted by saying that the situation is unusual and that they have immediately contacted with the Serbian authorities.
