Albanian Foreign Ministry condemns anti Albanian slogans in Macedonia

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs condemns the hate speech expressed in slogans against Albanians on the walls of the Spiritual and Cultural Heritage Institution of Albanians in Skopje.
“This is not the first time that we see deliberate attacks against the institutions that portray the tradition, language and culture of Albania. The purpose of these attacks is to create hate, division and tension between communities. These attacks, right at the moment when interethnic cohesion is making progress, are attacks against peace and stability in the neighbouring country. We believe that these attacks are actions of a small group of people, encouraged by extreme nationalism and dangerous rhetoric from the old politics in Macedonia after the Parliament passed the law for using the Albanian language in Macedonia”, the message says.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania asked authorities in Macedonia to find those responsible for this vandal act and bring them to justice for damaging the harmony and co-existence spirit in Macedonia.
