The Albanian Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, is traveling to the USA for the NATO ministerial meeting.
Cakaj met with Ron Johnson, the Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee for Europe and Cooperation for Regional Security, and also with Congressman Lee Zeldin.
The US officials discussed the latest developments in Albania, its role in Western Balkan and the country’s efforts to open the accession negotiations. The meeting also focused on Albania’s leading of the OSCE in 2020, and its lobbying for having a non-permanent place at the UN Security Council.
