The Albanian economy is facing an important challenge this Tuesday as the government tries to take 500 million EUR loan through the Eurobond.
It is the third time that Albania shops in international financial markets for a loan, but Top Channel has learned that this time, different from before, the Ministry of Finances could receive a 7 year Eurobond.
This is new for Albania. If successful, it would increase the trust of foreign investors on our economy.
The government will use the loan for its budget spending, but also to liquidate 200 million EUR of loans, issued in 2015, which had an interest rate of 5.75% and was expected to be paid by 2020.
By paying the old one before its due, the new one will have lower interest rates. The operation that would reduce the cost of instalments.
