Albanian Church burned in America

Boston firefighters fought against the flames that broke up in the
Albanian Orthodox Church in the Southern area of the city. The smoke
could be seen miles away.

Firefighters were obliged to leave the building since the ceiling risked to crumble, which happened a few minutes later, together with some internal walls.

Firefighter officials said that the source of the fire might be the altar and the candles. The authorities are working for finding the source.

Some of the firefighters have received light wounds, but there are no reports of injured civillians. The alarm rang five times and the last one was for reinforcement, but the heat helped the fire continue.

Church representatives exclude the chances that fire might have started from the candles. They say that the candles were far from the altar after the Sunday mass, when 150 people were present.

The building had been used for congregations since 1930, but the structure exists before that date.
