Albania, the country with the youngest population in Europe is facing
each day lower birth rates and with the longer longevity, 33% of
Albanians by 2030 will be over the age of 65, according to Emira
Galanxhi, Director of Social Statistics.
“Albania’s replacing birth rate is 2.3 children per woman. The latest census showed that the birth rate is 1.7 children per woman”, said Bart de Bruijn, statistic expert.
Another phenomenon that is influencing the aging of the population is the tendency of the Albanian youth.
