
The well known Albanian actor and comedian, Vasillaq Vangjeli, passed away yesterday.
Vangjeli has played around 100 roles for the Albanian public.
He has worked as an actor and director at the Tirana Comedy Theater from 1976 to 2005, playing several roles.
He showed his abilities as an actor even in feature movies such as “Zonja nga Qyteti” and “Shoku yne Tili”. He has participated in classical and modern theater shows, and has been present in all “New Year’s Special Show” of the Albanian State Television since 1975. Vangjeli has also performed in a series of comedies.
He was an artist with high values even in drama, although his tendency was mainly on comedy and humor. His friends and colleagues mention him as a person with a high sense of humor even in the private life.
Vasillaq Vangjeli was born on February 1948. After graduating at the Tirana University of Arts in 1975, he worked at the Tirana Comedy Theater until 2005. The long career of this artist is full of characters whose lines are still being used in the everyday life, ranking Vangjeli as one of the main actors of the Albanian scene.
