Monday will be an important day for Albania as a donor conference is held in Brussels with the aim of raising fund to rebuild homes damaged by the November 26 earthquake.
The “Together for Albania” conference will be opened by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, followed by statements by Prime Minister Edi Rama and European Council President Charles Mitchel.
Participants in this conference will have 120 minutes to make their donations, as earlier Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok said his country would give a donation of 3m euros.
In the meantime thousands of Albanians have tied their hopes to the government reconstruction project, at a calculated cost of 1 billion euros. The government has taken the first administrative steps by approving seven areas to be used in the reconstruction process and has reserved 100m euros from the state budget for it.
