The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, held this Thursday a
meeting with the Czech Counterpart, Lubomir Zaoralek, who is visiting
Tirana as part of the Vishegrad Ministerial meeting.
Bushati declared in a joint press conference that both countries have entered a new advanced phase of relations.
“This was an excellent opoprtunity to review the mutual relations which have entered a consolidation phase”, Bushati declared.
The Chief of Albanian diplomacy said that with Zaoralek he discussed the establishing of the Vishegrad Fund and make it operational.
On the same line, the Czech Minister said there is a new dynamism in the mutual relations, which have started since the time of Czechoslovakia.
“Trade exchange raised with 17%. The Czech Republic wants to intensify the cooperation with Balkan countries in many sectors”, Zaoralek said.
“We are also ready to help with our experience with the EU membership”, Zaoralek said, valuing Albania’s role for stability in Balkan.
As for the refugee crisis, he underlined that “we need to coordinate the efforts”. “I am sure that we can manage this situation if we work together”.
Minister Bushati underlined that the Albanian government has undertaken preliminary measures with the Italian authorities to coordinate their efforts.
“In order to prevent the side effects that rise from the migration crisis, we also have communication with Macedonia and Greece”, Bushati said.
