Albania and Kosovo, joint cultural agenda

A cooperation protocol has been signed between the Albanian Ministry of
Culture and the Kosovo Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, by
Ministers Kumbaro and Krasniqi, for the common four-year cultural
agenda.

The signing went through after a day of meetings between the two ministries and the leaders of art, culture and cultural heritage institutions of both countries.

The activities will start on February 14th with the exhibition in Prishtina “Movable object of an acrhive”, organized by the Gallery of Arts in Prishtina and the Marubi Phototeque.

On February 17th there will be an exhibition for children in Prizren, organized by the National Center of Children in Tirana. Several books will also be published.

“Both Ministries promised to publish in cooperation the work of Jeronim De Rada, together with the Arberesh community, who have an important role”, declared the Albanian Minister, Mirela Kumbaro.

Movies will be shown in Prishtina and Tirana for the independences of Albanian and Kosovo.

A joint movie space will be in prestigious festivals, such as the Berlinale and Canna in 2015. The Ministers announced the joint commitment for supporting the Gjirokaster Festival in 2015.

“The planning of this agenda shows the importance that our countries give to culture”, declared Memli Krasniqi, Kosovo Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
