Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
On the 100th year of independence, the Social Science Faculty and the
Institution of Albanology Studies, with the support of the Austrian
Consulate of Honor in Shkoder, held a conference at the University
presidency premises, with topic: “Albanians and Austro-Hungary in the
end of XIX century and until the first decades of XX century.
Shkoder professors discussed topics of interest that are related with the education policies of Austro-Hungary, such as “the Austro-Hungarian albanologists under the study of the Italian scholar, Carlo Tagliavini”, from Mimoza Priku, “Austro-Hungarian Education Policy in Northern Albania”, from Rokin Daberdaku, and “Austro-Hungarian scholars and their researches in Albania”, from Mahir Hoti.
An interest was shown for the works that are related with the support of Austro-Hungary over the Albanian matters, such as the stance of the Austro-Hungarian Empire about the Albanian southern border issue in 1913 and 1914, from Romeo Gurakuqi.
Austro-Hungary, and especially the city of Shkoder, have an old and friendly connection, where the supportive contribution of Austro-Hungary can be felt over many years.
