22/07/2014 00:00

“Albania has huge potentials to turn into a connecting hub for flights
between the East and West”, declared in an interview for Top Channel
Frank Brenner, Executive Director of “Eurocontrol”, the European
organization for Flight Safety, who is attending a two-day visit in our
country.

“As for the geographical point of view, Ireland is the most western country that is part of Eurocontrol, and with the distance to Georgia, Albania is situated in the middle. I think that the flights in the Albanian airspace are a good revenue for Albania and Albcontrol. Attracting more air control is very positive. Albania has plenty of tourist attraction. This is only about securing the right infrastructure to attract these tourists and travelers in Albania, with more commodities”, declared Frank Brenner.

When asked about the safety offered by the Albanian sky, Brenner declared:

“At the Eurocontrol, we make comparisons between the 40 member countries. Albania and Albcontrol have excellent data about safety, and also in economic terms. I think that Albania and Albcontrol can turn into a strong point in the region, and also with the flights on its space. Albcontrol has helped with a very sensible project, that of opening the airspace of Kosovo, and we thank them for this”.

Frank Brenner, the Executive Director of “Eurocontrol”, commented the tragedy in Ukraine and underlined that an international investigation is needed for this case.

He added that the weapons falling on the hands of irresponsible people have turned into a danger for the civil aviation, and he understand the fear of travelers in the past days.
