Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Albania has finalized the project for the modernization of the Albanian
airspace at the Airport in Rinas, where the National Traffic Agency held
a ceremony for the occasion. The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha,
declared that the increased flux of passengers is an evidence of the
powerful dynamics of the development of our economy.
“The number of passengers has increased probably as in any other airport of our continent, in a very short period of time, with 132%. There is no other safer and more efficient indicator for increasing Albania’s credibility than this indicator. The credibility has increased in all plans; the security system and the passports. But the reliability increase is evidence of a powerful dynamics of the development in our country. Imagine that all these changes have taken place during an unprecedented crisis for the last 70 years, or even the longest one in our continent. The significance is much greater in this context”, Berisha declared.
The Minister of Transports, Sokol Olldashi, declared that with the inauguration of this project will end the Albanian engagements for having a joint European airspace. The director of this agency, Petrit Sulaj, declared that there is optimism for the efficiency of flights, so that we can reach the objectives set by the European Commission.
“The efficient conclusion with this program enabled an increase of the security and the respecting of the obligations that our country has towards the European community for a common sky. ANTA is ranked today among the other regional agencies, with modern technology and ready to face new challenges in regional defense and security”, declared that General Director of ANTA, Petrit Sula.
The investment on this project was 76.5 million USD, 60% of which was financed by the Albanian government and 40% from the ANTA funds.
