The leader of the Democratic Union for Integration, a party of Albanians in
Macedonia, declared that in a near future, Macedonia might have an
Albanian Prime Minister or President.

“It is very normal that after so many years we start talking about an Albanian Prime Minister or President. It is important to send a message, especially to the Macedonian citizens, that this state belongs to the Albanians too”, Ahmeti declared for the Macedonian media.

“We should come together for building Macedonia as our country, and respect it. Because our common goal is to live together in this state”, he declared.

According to Ahmeti, this way, the ethnicity of a person that would lead one of these posts would be very important.

The leader of DUI mentioned the Ministry of Defense, which is managed by an Albanian staff from his party.

“Some years ago it would be unthinkable that an Albanian would be Minister of Defense, but this also happened. I don’t want to predict what will happen after 4 or 5 years, but everything will depend from the political processes and the dialogue between the political partners”, Ahmeti declared.
