Although the World Bank has changed its prediction for the economic
growth of 2016, the government keeps standing to its predictions.
The Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, declared this Wednesday that the economic growth for 2016 will be 3.4%.
“The growth for 2015 stopped at 2.62% while the projections for this year mount up to 3.4%”, he said.
Ahmetaj spoke about consumption too. He admitted there is a drop in our country, but considered it as insignificant compared to the drop in other countries of the region, as stated by Word Bank.
Two weeks ago the World Bank reduced the prediction for the economic growth of Albania this year from 3.4% to 3.2%. The Chief Economist of the World Bank in Tirana explained the reasons.
“The exports are lower than expected. This has motivated the drop for 2016. There will be a slighter drop even for 2015, from 2.7% to 2.6%.
