Two days before the expiration of the political agreement between the
two main parties of the ruling coalition, two former Ministers of
Interior, Luan Rama from the Socialist Movement for Integration and
Saimir Tahiri from the Socialist Party, have both exchanged heated
comments.
Luan Rama says that the Kavaja elections are a farce and that the SMI has not been consulted. Tahiri accused the SMI of making double games.
SMI also launched several comments against the Shpetim Idrizi’s “Party for Justice, Integration and Unity”, who has been closer to the Socialists in the past years.
However, Socialists have made an official invitation to the SMI for running together in the next elections, and its deadline is about to expire.
But the formula of this coalition gets complicated with the approach of the PJIU. One MP of the SMI, Spartak Braho, has called this a mistake of the SP. However, Luan Rama says this is a personal opinion of Braho.
The PJIU leader, Shpetim Idrizi, declared that his party’s leadership will meet to discuss negotiations about a coalition with the Socialist Party, however, he says that no invitation has been made yet.
This situation has caused agitation among the Socialist Party itself. While MP Erion Brace says that the party structures will decide about the future coalitions, former Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, seems impatient with the political games of their allies. He promised that the SP will enter and win the elections even without any other ally.
Despite these comments, everything is still open until April 1st, when the coalition agreement between the Socialist Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration officially expires.
