Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future “I haven’t received or given any order to shoot. The truth is up to the Court”.
This was the plead of the former head of the Special Unit at the National Guard, Agim Llupo, who broke the silence and made a first declaration in public regarding the January 21st shootings.
He accused the Prosecution of not taking in consideration his previous testimony.
“I have never shot, even when they hit me and threatened me”, Llupo declared.
The former National Guard officer declared that he only shot in the air when the Prime Minister’s door was opened.
“On January 21st I only respected the law and shot in the air. The protesters hit me with stones and hard objects, and for this reason my weapon was damaged. Then I changed it and I shot only in the air, because the situation was calmed down”, Llupo declared.
The process was adjourned for October 24th, due to the absence of the defensive lawyer of Agim Llupo.
