After almost three years of severe stalemate in the judicial system, today the Albanian Constitutional Court became functional.
Today in the Presidency, justice Përparim Kalo took the oath, the sixth member of the Constitutional Court who officially took office.
This means that the high judicial body can formally start plenary meetings and consideration of cases.
The ceremony took place this morning, with the participation of other representatives of independent institutions.
Yesterday between Aleksandër Toma and Përparim Kalos, president Ilir Meta chose the latter as the most appreciated by KED.
Now the Constitutional Court, which has been absent in Albania for almost 3 years, is functional with the necessary quorum of 6 members and can start working already after the oath of Kalos.
It is also expected that in the coming days there will be another appointment, of the seventh member.
